Dr. Prem Pavoor

Prem Pavoor is Head of India for Eight Roads Ventures, a proprietary global investment firm backed by Fidelity. He also leads life sciences, healthcare and health-tech investments in India for Eight Roads. Eight Roads’ active and exited India healthcare investments include Laurus Labs, Trivitron Healthcare, Cipla Health, Caplin Steriles, Eywa Pharma, PharmEasy, Medwell Ventures, Richcore Lifesciences, Core Diagnostics, CareStack, Specsmakers Opticians, Ashish Life Science, Plasmagen Biosciences and Immuneel Therapeutics.

Prem was previously based in the United States with McKinsey & Company’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Products Practice where he advised pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare and private equity firms on areas including R&D, business development, manufacturing optimization and post-merger integrations.

His doctoral thesis work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard Medical School focused on implantable medical devices and novel nano-coatings. Prem is the lead author of several scientific publications, the named inventor on two US patents, and a recipient of the MIT-OMNOVA Award for Excellence in Polymer Research and Technology.

Prem holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly UDCT), Mumbai, a MS and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering Practice from MIT and an MBA from MIT Sloan.
